After the breakout success of last year's NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, it was natural to wonder how the sport would capitalize on that success during the 2024-25 without Caitlin Clark (who went to the WNBA). The answer? Just fine, it would appear, according to new iSpot data published by David Coletti.

  • 15.0 BILLION minutes of viewing were generated by 442 live national telecasts across 15 linear networks, which was up 12% vs. the previous eason.
  • The average minute audience of live games (key for advertisers and sponsors alike) grew by 9% compared to last season.
  • The star-studded USC-UConn game on Dec. 21 delivered the biggest audience of the season, with an impressive 3.4 million average viewers throughout the contest.
  • UConn, Texas, South Carolina, USC and LSU ranked as the top five teams for average minute audience.
  • A total of 30 games drew an average minute audience of 1 million or more viewers; and eight teams attracted 1 million-plus average viewers three or more times this season (just four teams accomplished that feat in 2023-24).
