Breakups are never fun for those involved, but the separations can also make for some compelling content – and did in 2024.

Data from Tubular Labs' end-of-year recap reveals some key insights around the year's buzziest (on social video, at least) breakups, featuring famous faces new and old.

  • On TikTok, “Who the F* Did I Marry?” propelled creator ReeseTeesa to stardom with 3.4 million followers and 629 million views in just a couple months back in February/March.
  • Creator Sophia La Corte turned her villain era into one of the hottest sounds on TikTok over the summer, as she was utilized by other creators over 2,000 times over the last six months of 2024 (to the tune of 117 million views).
  • Barstool also got in on the act, as founder David Portnoy recorded a diss track aimed at singer Zach Bryan after negative details emerged about Bryan's relationship with (and alleged treatment of) podcast co-host Brianna LaPaglia, with the song netting over 650K views.
