Trump Election Win Fuels Fox News Tune-In On Social
Republican Donald Trump winning the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election was not just a boost for the candidate, but also (conservative-leaning) Fox News as a video publisher. According to recent Tubular Labs Audience Ratings, Fox News’ unique U.S. viewers across YouTube and Facebook soared during the election month. Further analysis revealed:
- Fox News' unique viewers in the U.S. climbed by 26% month-over-month, up to 44.6 million – No. 11 among all domestic creators across YouTube and Facebook in November.
- The network has increased its audience by 2.14x year-over-year dating back to last November as Fox News programs cashed in on the election and hot-button issues for its core viewers, in particular, throughout the year.
- Watch-time across YouTube and Facebook has also been ballooning for Fox News since the start of 2024. The network was the No. 1 news publisher by U.S. minutes watched in November, at 1.2 billion. That figure was up 17% month-over-month and increased about 2.5x year-over-year.
- On YouTube alone, nearly 54% of Fox News’ new video uploads in November were over five minutes long, which helps fuel more watch-time, but also speaks to a strategy that encourages extended viewing.
