Spotify Dominates, Max Sees Growth: Earned Media Value Across Streaming Landscape
Insights from CreatorIQ’s latest analysis of the music and video streaming industry.

When it comes to Earned Media Value (EMV), no other music or video streamer holds a candle to what Spotify is raking in: According to a new report from CreatorIQ, creators generated a whopping $150.6 million EMV for the music service in October.
- While that’s more than twice what the second-place brand received (Netflix, $60.8 million EMV), it was a 12% decrease from Spotify’s September EMV.
- Among the top ten music and video streaming services, Max ($16.3 million EMV) had the largest month-over-month increase, with EMV up 26% compared to September.
- Food Network harnessed Instagram in particular to promote its programs on Max, with posts contributing a total $2.5 million EMV for HBO’s streaming service — a 39% month-over-month increase.
