With the NBA finals in full swing, creator marketing platform CreatorIQ dug into the data to reveal which NBA teams generated the most social engagement during the 2023 season — and it's California lovin' when it comes to Earned Media Value* (EMV).
The Los Angeles Lakers are utterly dominating the court: There are nearly 3,000 creators associated with the franchise in the U.S., generating a total EMV of $178.3 million — nearly twice that of the No. 2 team, the Golden State Warriors. Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings (No. 9 for EMV) have the highest year-over-year growth among all the teams in the league.
