Pharma TV Ad Spend Jumps in October
The top ten Rx brands spent an estimated $221.8 million,
AbbVie has been one of the biggest pharmaceutical advertisers on TV this year, and in October it was no different: Its immunology drug Skyrizi topped the list of Rx brands by estimated TV ad spend, with an outlay of $45.6 million — a 52% increase from its September spend, per iSpot data recently shared with FiercePharma.
A few additional insights about the top-spending Rx brands in October:
- The top ten Rx brands spent an estimated $221.8 million on TV advertising during the month, a notable increase from the $164.8 million shelled out by September's top brands. NFL football and news were key drivers of spend.
- The No. 2 Rx brand by spend was Dupixent ($33.9 million, up from $29.7 million in September), followed by Rinvoq, another AbbVie drug ($28.9 million, up from $22.1 million in September).
- Month-over-month newcomers to the top ten include Rexulti ($21.6 million), Veozah ($15.5 million) and Lybalvi ($12.8 million).
