Netflix's Streaming Originals Dominance Sees Incursions In Q3
The following is a selection from Brandon Katz of Parrot Analytics.
Netflix has long been king of the streaming originals market, but Q3 data from Parrot Analytics shows how competitors have started to steal some of that spotlight by share of global streaming premieres.
- In Q4 2023, Netflix accounted for 21.2% of streaming original global premieres, but dipped to 14.7% in Q3 2024.
- Meanwhile, Disney+ has climbed over time to nearly 10% of the total, and Amazon Prime saw a bounceback to get back above 10% in Q3.
- The fact that big players like Disney and Amazon still haven't caught Netflix and its production pipeline is now back to normal likely means the streaming giant will remain on top.
