NBC Leads for TV Network Weekly Watch-Time
The network captured an 8.80% viewership share for Sept. 25 through Oct. 1, per Inscape.
Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). With a 8.80% viewership share, NBC squarely takes first place on the network ranking. NFL games, the Ryder Cup and two of NBC’s flagship reality shows — America’s Got Talent and The Voice — helped the network assume the throne over ABC (7.70% of watch-time).
Additional insights around the most-watched networks from September 25 through October 1:
- Fox takes third place with 7.41% of watch-time, up from No. 4 and 7.30% last week. NFL, college football and The OT were three of its top programs.
- Cable news networks made gains week-over-week, with both Fox News and MSNBC moving up one chart position. CNN had the largest position increase among the networks in the top 25, moving to No. 11 from No. 14 previously.
- Lifetime was the sole week-over-week ranking newcomer, landing at No. 25 with a 0.79% viewership share fueled by reruns of Castle and Rizzoli & Isles.
