Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). Here's a look at the top 25 networks by viewership share for May 6-12 — head over to TVREV to see the program ranking and get insights about the top shows by watch-time.
Thanks largely to more NBA playoff games, ABC not only stays in first place on the TV network ranking, but increased its viewership share from 7.48% to 7.79% week-over-week. Aside from basketball, top programming included Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight With David Muir, The View and Jeopardy! Masters.
A few more highlights around the most-watched TV networks:
- CBS takes second place once again, and increased its viewership share from 7.30% previously to 7.69% thanks in part to PGA Tour golf. Other top programming by watch-time included The Price Is Right, CBS Mornings, The Young and the Restless and Let’s Make a Deal.
- Although NBC, Fox News, truTV, TBS, ION and HGTV all retain their positions in the top ten week-over-week, each saw slight decreases in watch-time.
- NBA and Stanley Cup playoff games helped ESPN rise up the ranking one spot to No. 5.
