Inscape Data: Streaming Surged in Q1 2024
In Q1 2024, 58% of smart TVs solely streamed content, a full three percentage points up from Q4 2023
The way people watch TV has been steadily shifting for years. And although traditional, linear TV is far from dead, Inscape’s Q1 2024 analysis reveals a notable jump in the share of smart TVs that only streamed content.
- Nearly 58% of smart TVs solely streamed content during the quarter, an increase of 3% points and the biggest quarterly bump since Q2 2022.
- The share of smart TVs that only accessed content through cable/satellite or over-the-air antenna was flat quarter-over-quarter at 5%
- Looking at smart TVs that accessed content via both streaming and traditional inputs, the share has declined nearly 10 percentage points since the end of 2021.
