NBA In-Season Tournament Quarterfinals Deliver For TNT
After weeks of group play madness, the NBA In-Season Tournament arrived at its much-anticipated quarterfinal round on Monday and Tuesday night. And despite having just four games – all on TNT – the games still scored a significant share of primetime viewership, according to data from Inscape.
- In-Season Tournament games were the No. 3 primetime program on TV for Dec. 4-5, with 3.70% of minutes watched (for comparison, the NBA accounted for 0.66% for the full week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3).
- Monday Night Football was tops during the two-day stretch, with 12.37% of primetime watch-time – fueled by an overtime thriller between the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars (The Voice, which appeared during both nights, was No. 2 at 5.74%).
- The In-Season Tournament was No. 1 for minutes watched on Tuesday night in primetime, though, with 2.54% – drawn in by a mix of the big-market New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers, and the star power of the Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns.
