Hurricane Helene prompted enough tune-in for The Weather Channel to thrust it into the ranking at No. 8 with a 1.77% viewership share. The network’s America’s Morning Headquarters also made the program ranking (No. 15) after not appearing in the top 50 previously. Usually, TWC doesn’t make the top 50 networks, and the last time it ranked among the top 25 was over a year ago — during Hurricane Idalia. This highlights the power and importance of having trusted, non-partisan sources during our age of catastrophic climate events when lives are at stake.
A few more insights around the most-watched TV networks:
- ABC takes first place with its 8.89% viewership share largely fueled by NFL and college football games, with other top programs including Good Morning America, ABC World News Tonight With David Muir and The View.
- Telemundo inches up a spot to No. 17, with its 1.00% viewership share driven in part by reality series La Isla Desafío Extremo.
- Paramount Network and Oxygen are two week-over-week ranking newcomers, taking No. 23 and No. 25, respectively.
