The NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs are currently locked into two heated conference finals matchups. And brands are benefiting from the added intrigue as the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers are tied 2-2 in the East, while the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers are knotted up 2-2 in the West. Data from iSpot shows which advertisers have the most ad reach during national live linear playoff games so far this year:
- GEICO has the largest share of household TV ad impressions during live national linear playoff games so far, at 3.72% – an increase from its 2.47% during the regular season.
- Sports-related programming has been a significant part of GEICO's TV ad approach so far this year, and hockey's a major part of that; iSpot data notes the NHL has delivered 5.12% of GEICO TV ad impressions this year (No. 3, only behind men's college basketball and the NFL).
- Brands like Lexus and Verizon also grew their respective shares of TV ad impressions as well, to climb into the top-five during the playoffs. Both were top-10 during the regular season.
