Football Fuels Fox’s Rise to No. 1 on TV Network Ranking

Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). With an 8.03% viewership share, Fox moves from fifth to first place week-over-week. NFL and college football games, plus related programming including The OT and Fox NFL Sunday led for watch-time on the network. A few more highlights around the most-watched TV networks: 

  • Although NBC moves up a spot to No. 3, it saw watch-time decrease from 7.56% previously to 7.36%. And although Fox News slips from fourth to fifth place, it grew its viewership share week-over-week, from 6.19% to 6.38%. 
  • Thanks in part to Friends reruns, Nickelodeon rises from No. 25 previously to No. 22 capturing 0.77% of minutes watched during the week. 
  • TLC and Discovery were the two week-over-week ranking newcomers, landing at No. 23 and No. 24, respectively.
