Travel advertising has historically been hot-and-cold during the Super Bowl, but the industry already has two spots locked in this year between Booking.com and MSC Cruises (there could be more still yet to be announced, too).

  • Data from iSpot shows that while travel brands used to have a minimal footprint during the game, the industry is now a regular participant – even at just one or two airings per year.
  • The high-water mark for travel was a tie between 2018 and 2022, which had three ads apiece.
  • Booking.com, in particular, has become a fixture and is now in its fourth consecutive year during the Super Bowl.
  • Last year's Booking.com spot – led by Tina Fey – was 6% more likeable than the norm, and launched a year-long campaign by the website as well.
