College Football Title Game Owns Over 36% Of Monday Primetime Minutes
Monday night's College Football National Championship did not feature the usual names, but the Michigan Wolverines' 34-13 win over the Washington Huskies still delivered – both in terms of excitement (for the first half or so, anyway) and audience interest.
- Data from Inscape shows that the game itself accounted for over 32.2% of minutes watched in primetime on Monday, making it far and away the night's most-watched programming.
- Adding in pre- and post-game content, the game won 36.1% of primetime watch-time; a big win for ESPN.
- By comparison, last year's national championship game between Georgia and TCU – a blowout 65-7 win for UGA – only scored about 32% of primetime minutes watched between the game itself and supplementary content.
