College Football Fuels ABC's Watch-Time

Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). Here's a look at the top 25 networks by viewership share for December 2-8 — head over to TVREV to see the program ranking and get insights about the top shows by watch-time.

Thanks to multiple college football conference championship games — plus a Saturday broadcast of College Football Gameday — ABC takes first place on the network ranking with a 9.30% viewership share. Meanwhile, NBC falls from first to second place week-over-week (8.84% of watch-time).

  • Cable news networks Fox News, CNN and MSNBC all rise up the ranking week-over-week, with MSNBC seeing the most notable jump (from No. 21 to No. 12).
  • Telemundo moves up to No. 20 (from No. 22 previously), with watch-time driven partially by episodes of reality show Los 50.
  • Freeform jumps from No. 33 to No. 21 week-over-week, with its 1.18% viewership share fueled in part by Christmas movies including Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
  • Discovery was the only other week-over-week ranking newcomer, landing at No. 25 (up from No. 26) with 0.72% of watch-time.
