Celebrity Ads Skyrocket During Recent Super Bowls
The Super Bowl has had plenty of big celebrity moments over the years, but lately, the game has seemingly been taken over by celebs. Data from iSpot shows that since 2010, the share of ads featuring celebrities has more than doubled, hitting a high of 78% in 2020, and settling in between 67% and 74% in the years since.
- As the number of Super Bowl ads featuring celebrities has increased, so has the use of female celebrities – climbing from just 7% in 2010 to 44% in 2023.
- Recently, two in three celebrity ads included at least one female celebrity in response to a varied Super Bowl audience.
- Use of multiple celebrities is also on the rise in recent seasons, jumping from 7% of Super Bowl ads in 2010 to 41% in 2023.
