CBS Leads TV Network Ranking for Live Watch-Time
The network captured 6.49% of all live, linear minutes watched Aug. 14-20.
Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). CBS takes first place for the second week in a row, although its viewership share of 6.49% was slightly lower than last time’s 6.57%. PGA Tour golf continues to be a driving force for the network’s watch-time, with The Price Is Right, CBS Mornings and Let’s Make a Deal also as large contributors.
Additional insights around the most-watched networks from August 14-20:
- ABC and NBC swap positions compared to the previous week, with the former moving into second place with a 6.34% viewership share while the latter slips to third (6.12% of watch-time).
- Although they maintain chart positions week-over-week, Fox News, ESPN, MSNBC, Hallmark Channel, TBS and Univision each saw slight increases in watch-time compared to the week prior.
- CNN (1.94% of watch-time) and TLC (1.28%) each move up three spots compared to their previous ranking positions.
- Discovery is the only week-over-week ranking newcomer, landing at No. 25 with 0.91% of minutes watched.
