Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). Here's a look at the top 25 networks by viewership share for January 15-21 — head over to TVREV to see the program ranking and get insights about the top shows by watch-time.
With a 10.45% viewership share, CBS takes first place on the ranking thanks largely to NFL playoff games. Additional programming that fueled watch-time for the week included The Price Is Right, CBS Mornings, The Young and the Restless and Let’s Make a Deal.
Some more insights around the most-watched networks:
- ABC moves from fourth to third place, with its 7.97% viewership share driven in part by NFL playoff games, Good Morning America and ABC World News Tonight With David Muir.
- Although Fox News Channel and ION move up the ranking, they both had a week-over-week decrease in minutes watched.
- Nearly half of the networks on the chart maintain their positions compared to the previous week, but none of them saw increased watch-time.
- Paramount Network was the sole week-over-week ranking newcomer, landing at No. 23 with 0.80% of watch-time, driven largely by Bar Rescue and Two and a Half Men.
