Caitlin Clark Dominates Social Video, Too
According to Tubular Labs, videos about Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark have generated 92.2 million YouTube views since November (when the 2023-24 season began), and that fervor has only grown over time.
- 87.5 million of those views have come in the last 90 days, with publications serving as a driving force behind those videos (ESPN, Fox Sports and NBC Sports all posting over 90 videos since the start of the regular season).
- On YouTube, 85% of those that watched videos about Clark since Nov. 1 were men, and audiences for Clark videos have significant overlap with "mainstream" sports publishers like Bleacher Report (68%), NBA on ESPN (40%) and CBS Sports (38%), among others.
- Clark also stacks up favorably vs. her male college basketball counterparts in terms of who’s driving the most video interest, generating more views than standout players like Purdue's Zach Edey (10.2 million), North Carolina’s R.J. Davis (5.7 million), Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht (3.4 million) and Houston’s Jamal Shead (638K).
