Amid Overall TV Ad Reach Decline, These Industries Still Grew
Pet food, skin & foot care and snack food were three categories that significantly grew TV ad reach in H1 2024 vs. H1 2023.
Household TV ad impressions during the first half of 2024 decreased by 3.73% year-over-year, according to a recent report from iSpot, but it wasn’t bad news for everyone. Pet food, skin & foot care and snack food were three categories that significantly grew TV ad reach vs H1 2023, ranking among the top 20 industries by impressions share of voice for January through June 2024.
- The Farmer’s Dog was pet foods’ big player, seeing Big 4 broadcast ad impressions more than triple in H1 2024 vs. H1 2023.
- Skin & foot care TV ad impressions skyrocketed partly due to a surge from Olay, which grew reach 89% year-over-year while leaning into “Medifacts” PSA-style ads.
- Among snack brands, Cheez-It stood out with a 16% YoY increase in overall reach, fueled in part by primetime programming (+28%) including the College Football Playoff.
