A very newsworthy July helped fuel ABC News to No. 5 among all U.S. media & entertainment creators, with 49.8 million unique video viewers across YouTube and Facebook – according to data from Tubular Labs. Further analysis found:

  • ABC News’ reach increased 56% month-over-month, and was by far its highest monthly total in the last year.
  • Bald eagles fighting (11.6 million views) and a sea turtle released into the ocean (10.1 million views) were the most-seen videos of the month despite huge news items like Donald Trump assassination attempt (over 11% of uploads) and Kamala Harris taking Joe Biden’s place atop the Democratic ticket (7% of uploads)
  • For ABC News, volume was the name of the game. The channel uploaded more Facebook and YouTube videos in July 2024 than any other month since May 2022. That, in part, helped fuel its watch-time rise as well. Month-over-month, ABC News saw watch-time grow by 84%, and 200% year-over-year.
