ABC Again Leads Ranking of Most-Watched TV Networks
ABC took first place with a 7.48% viewership share for April 29 through May 5.
Each week, we highlight the most-watched shows and networks using insights from Inscape, the currency-grade smart TV ACR data provider and data technology division of Vizio. Data is linear, live TV only and includes all episode types (new and reruns). Rankings are by percent share duration (i.e., time spent watching). ABC continues its hot streak, leading TV networks for watch-time for the third week in a row — although its viewership share fell to 7.48% from 7.92% previously. Top programming by watch-time included network stalwarts Good Morning America, American Idol, ABC World News Tonight With David Muir, as well as the NBA and Stanley Cup playoffs.
Some additional insights on the week’s most-watched TV networks:
- CBS is again at No. 2, but saw its viewership share decrease to 7.30% from 7.65% previously. Some of the top programming by watch-time included The Price Is Right, CBS Mornings and The Young and the Restless.
- While NBC, Fox News, Fox, truTV and USA retain their ranking positions week-over-week, each saw upticks in their viewership shares.
- Bravo and Comedy Central were two week-over-week ranking newcomers, taking No. 22 and No. 25, respectively. The Real Housewives of New Jersey helped fuel the former’s rise, as Bravo aired rerun marathons leading up to the season 14 premiere on May 5. For Comedy Central, Seinfeld was one of its most-watched programs.
