Disney+ Leads Streamers for March Growth in Earned Media Value

Disney+ netted $25.4 million in Earned Media Value (EMV) in March, a 50% increase from its February EMV, making it the top video streaming service by month-over-month growth, per a recent analysis from CreatorIQ. It also led for month-over-month community expansion, with a 39% increase in the number of creators that mentioned Disney+ vs. February. Taylor Swift is to thank for much of that momentum. 

  • Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) debuted globally on the platform on March 14. Fan page @TaylorNation ranked as Disney+’s No. 1 earner, generating $2.3 million EMV through 26 posts about the debut. 
  • Swift herself also promoted the concert film on social, with seven posts that racked up $1.6 million EMV. 
  • Looking purely at EMV, Netflix was the No. 1 video streamer ($101.1 million EMV), followed by Prime Video ($38 million) and Hulu ($35.4 million). Disney+ ranked fourth.
